As part of the new 25 year lease between Rotherham Council and Phoenix regarding the pitches on herringthorpe playing fields there are a number of clauses relating to parking - the car parking management plan.
The main points of which are :
1). Players or their parents are NOT TO PARK on Badsley Moor Lane apart from dropping off or picking up players .
2) Players or their parents are requested to either park up at the clubhouse or on the hedge side of Badsley Street South for training sessions.
3) On match days at weekends, players/parents are requested to park up at the clubhouse.
4) The club’s Code of Conduct includes inconsiderate parking as a disciplinary offence for all club members (which includes parents of player members) . Members will also be reminded to park legally and considerately and also to leave quietly when the facility closes at 9pm.
5) Details of the plan will be made available to all visiting teams before they travel to matches.
6) The above plan also applies to anyone else using the facility .
7) The board of directors are responsible for the monitoring of this plan.
It is quite often said that as it is not illegal to park on Badsley Moor Lane then the Club cannot stop players/parents/visitors parking there . However as the lease states that the Club will “actively discourage” on street parking then the Council are able to argue that the Club are breaking the terms of the lease if members do park on Badsley Moor Lane.
Players/Parents will be asked to sign a paper agreeing to the above.
